Permanents and Body Waves

Permanent waves have come a long way over the years and can give you exactly the kind of wave you want. You can just add body to fine, limp hair or get loose, sexy waves. You can even have the corkscrew curls that many straight-haired girls have always wanted.

The key difference between a permanent and body wave is the size of the tools used in wrapping the hair. We use different strengths of permanent wave formulas and different size rods to achieve the desired effect. The key advantage of a body wave (especially in long hair) isn’t so much to get curls but to improve the “body” of the hair, allowing it to better hold various styles.

Relaxers

Hair relaxers straighten hair permanently through the use of various chemicals to thin out hair that is very thick or to make it more manageable. Chemical relaxers soften the hair, changing its natural structure to a straighter form. Though hair relaxers are a permanent type of hair treatment, they do require touch-ups on a regular basis. The new hair growth is naturally curly or coarser so it is important to apply relaxer to the new growth to make sure that it matches the already chemically-relaxed hair. Typically, this is done every 6-8 weeks.

Wrap & Curl

For those with African American hair who don’t want to wear it in its natural state, our wrap and curl services will wet set, blow dry and thermally curl/iron your hair to achieve a smooth, straight look.

Conditioning Treatments

It’s easy for hair to become dry and damaged from daily exposure to sun, heat, chemicals and the numerous other regimens that we subject hair to on a daily basis. Our deep conditioning treatments are the perfect remedy to restore hair to its proper health and vitality and impart the shine that you need and want. Sit and relax for 10-15 minutes while your hair gets the replenishing nourishment it so desperately needs. With regular treatments, deep conditioning can make a remarkable difference on over-processed or frizz-prone hair.
